IMI set to showcase IMI Media Academy at Global Media Congress 2024

IMI, a leading privately-owned media group based in the UAE, will participate in this year’s Global Media Congress from 26-28 November at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi, marking its first major event since unveiling its new brand. At the centre of IMI’s presence will be the IMI Media Academy, reflecting the group’s commitment to fostering innovation and professional growth in the media industry.

This year’s Congress theme, Facilitating Global Business Connections and Driving Brand Reinvention amid the Rapidly Evolving Media Industry, aligns seamlessly with IMI’s newly launched brand. This refreshed strategic positioning underscores IMI’s dedication to connecting people through stories that open minds, change views, and foster understanding—ultimately bringing the world closer.

IMI’s participation will spotlight the IMI Media Academy’s diverse programme of free training workshops, inspirational talks, and interactive sessions, led by industry experts from across the IMI network. Covering topics such as AI-driven creative production, social media content creation, podcasts, and digital news strategies, these sessions are designed to showcase expertise in emerging technologies and media trends, equipping attendees with actionable insights and practical skills. In its third edition, Global Media Congress brings together global thought leaders and media brands to discuss the future of the media industry, build connections, and explore the latest trends and innovations.

Among the many highlights across the three days of IMI Media Academy talks are engaging sessions led by industry experts, offering valuable insights into the evolving media landscape. On Day 1, 26 November 2024, the day begins with a workshop from 11:00 – 11:40 by Iman Lahrache, News Presenter at Sky News Arabia, on Mastering Media Appearances: Influential Speech and TV Presenting. At 12:15 – 12:40, Lenah Hassabballah, Editor at CNN Business Arabic, will present a talk on The Principles of Conducting a Successful Interview. Later, at 13:15 – 14:00, Eman Khattab, Senior Multimedia Journalist at Sky News Arabia, will lead a session on Tips and Tricks for Great Social Media Content Creation. The day concludes with an open session from 15:00 – 15:30, where Laura Koot, Managing Editor of The National, Ahmed Almansoori, Reporter, and Hala Nasar, Graduate Trainee, provide an inside look at The National’s Graduate Programme.

On Day 2, 27 November 2024, the sessions continue with a workshop from 11:00 – 11:40 by Abdulla Abudiak, Head of Development at Sky News Arabia, on Exploring AI and Digital Transformation in Content Creation. At 12:15 – 12:40, Ahmed Aboushabab, Deputy Head of Creative Services at IMI, will host a talk on Generative AI and Creative Production. Following this, a workshop from 13:15 – 14:00 by Mustafa Alrawi, Group Director, Editorial Partnerships at IMI, will delve into Navigating the Evolving Digital News Landscape. The day concludes with an open session from 15:00 – 15:30, where Lobna Alkholy from Al Ghurair Foundation will discuss A Look into Al Ghurair Foundation’s ‘Nomu’ Siraj Program. On Day 3, 28 November 2024, the final day starts with a workshop from 11:00 – 11:40 by Michella Haddad, News Presenter at Sky News Arabia, on Excelling in Media Appearances: Powerful Speech and TV Presentation Skills. At 12:15 – 12:40, Fadah Jassem, Head of Data Visualisation at The National, will present a session on From Numbers to Narratives: Mastering Data Visualisation for Storytelling. At 13:15 – 14:00, Amel Chaba, Senior Multimedia Journalist at Sky News Arabia, will host a workshop on Crafting Engaging Podcasts. The academy concludes with an open session from 15:00 – 15:30 by Ayman Hassonah, Head of News at Al Ain News, on Editorial Excellence: Writing News, Website Content, and Journalism. These sessions are designed to empower participants with practical skills, industry insights, and an understanding of the latest media trends, ensuring a comprehensive and enriching experience.

Furthering IMI’s mission to foster ambition in the media sector and uplift the next generation of media talents, all talks and sessions are open to all attendees. As the official training partner of Global Media Congress, the IMI Media Academy will also be providing additional workshops as part of the programme across the three days.
