IMI appoints Nakhle Elhage as Chief Transformation Officer
IMI, a privately owned global media group headquartered in the UAE, today announced the appointment of Nakhle Elhage as Chief Transformation Officer.
A veteran of the Arab media industry, Nakhle brings more than three decades of experience at the forefront of regional news and content. He was a founding member of MBC Group and a key architect behind the launch of Al Arabiya, where he served as Director of News and Current Affairs for over 16 years. His career has been closely tied to the development of modern Arabic news, shaping editorial standards, newsroom structures, and audience engagement across the region. Most recently, he founded blinx, a digital-first storytelling platform that has quickly established itself as one of the region’s most impactful and fast-growing media ventures.
Commenting on his appointment, Nakhle said: “I am delighted to join IMI at such a pivotal moment in its growth. The group’s ambition, scale, and commitment to innovation create a strong foundation for transformation. I look forward to working with the team to build future-ready platforms that resonate with audiences and set new standards across the industry.”
At IMI, Nakhle will lead the transformation of our core platforms: Sky News Arabia, CNN Business Arabic, and Al Ain News. His role will cover editorial direction, content, talent, production, and product development, with a clear focus on improving performance and strengthening the position of each platform in its market.
This transformation will focus on evolving how IMI’s platforms engage with audiences across both linear and digital environments, with an emphasis on more distinctive formats, stronger analysis, and content that reflects changing audience expectations across the region and beyond.
